Dant, president of IAM, encouraged attendance at the upcoming annual conference taking place October 27 - 29 in Danville.

Marketing Committee Report
Dona Bachman, marketing chair, reported that three registrations for the marketing workshop have been received.

Technical Assistance Committee Report
Lori Huffman will arrange to have Kathy Surprenant speak at the October meeting. Kathy is the field representative for SIUC's Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. She will introduce and discuss in detail the MPA internship program. Send suggestions for future discussion topics to Lori at curator@siu.edu or call 618-453-5388.

Development Committee Report Jo Nast would like to offer a development workshop focusing on grant writing and raising private funds. Potential dates will be presented at the October meeting.

Administrative Committee
Adrienne Barkley Giffin, committee chair, reported that the committee will meet during lunch at the Marketing Workshop on October 16 and discuss steps for incorporation and obtaining tax exempt status.

Developing a Brochure
Brochure Development Committee members are Pam Madden and Dona Bachman. They will work on the SIAM Directory of Museums. Lori will create a simple brochure to use in the meantime. Send ideas for this borchure to Lori at curator@siu.edu or call 618/453-5388.

Website Development
Send photographs of your museums for inclusion on the website to Carla Smith. Physical photographs should be mailed to: Carla Smith, University Museum, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL 62901-4508
Digital photographs 72 dpi and 6" wide OR 180 dpi and 4" wide should be sent in .jpg or .jpeg format to carlajs@siu.edu.
Dates of exhibits and events should also be sent to Carla for inclusion on the SIAM calendar of events.

Tours begin at 4:00 and meetings start at 5:00 unless otherwise noted.
Monday, October 25: (3:30 tour of archive, 5:00 meeting at museum) The University Museum, Carbondale
Monday, November 22: The Beatles Mini Museum (Benton) Tour at 4:00 and meet at 5:00.
Bring your calendar to the October meeting to set dates for the 2005 meetings.
