Jack Nawrot, a senior scientist emeritus at Southern Illinois University Carbondale designed and created "Art in the Dark" to recapture the 2024 total solar eclipse. The sculpture stands 8.5 foot and is hand crafted stainless steel and iron.

Crafted in celebration of the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse, "Art in the Dark" commemorates this historic event that brought thousands of spectators to southern Illinois.
