This bright red sculpture was installed in 1995 as part of the State of Illinois’ Art-in-Architecture program. The artist’s signature can be found in the lower panel on the left-hand side. Martens completed BAE at the University of Bonn and Berlin, West Germany. She earned her MA and MFA in Sculpture at the University of Notre Dame at South Bend, Indiana. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She is a Professor of Art at the University of Illinois, Champaign.
